EURASNET, the EU-funded Network of Excellence on Alternative Splicing, will host a conference on the mechanisms, physiological importance and disease-associations of alternative splicing in the very beautiful city of Granada, Spain. Both scientists and clinicians are warmly invited to participate.
The conference will feature 17 international invited speakers who are experts in the biochemistry, genomics, cell biology and clinical aspects of alternative splicing. A highlight of the meeting will be a keynote lecture by Professor Phillip Sharp, recipient of the 1993 Nobel prize for the discovery of the splicing process. The meeting will also include a workshop on “The future of post-transcriptional gene regulation”, featuring lectures by Professors Benjamín Blencowe, Matthias Mann, Iain Mattaj and John Mattick. In addition, short oral presentations will be invited from selected participants based on submitted abstracts. Poster presentations are encouraged.
***EURASNET MEMBERS***: The International Meeting will be followed by a closed meeting for EURASNET members only on Friday March 4.
