We found that Golgi membranes have to undergo fragmentation and dispersal from the pericenrtiolar region prior to entry of mammalian cells into mitosis. Inhibiting Golgi fragmentation arrested cells in G2 and work is in progress to identify the Golgi organization specific cell cycle control mechanism.
